In the following text (the "Terms"), "the Website" refers to function.academy and its subdomains, and "we" (or "us", "our") refers to the developer(s) of the Website. Your continuation to use the Website implies your agreement to the Terms.

Honor Code Related

The Function Academy Honor Code (the "Honor Code") states that unless explicitly permitted by us, you shall not: (i) interact with the Website through means other than the official user interface, such as the developer tools or any automated requests, or (ii) attempt to access any data on our server that is intended to be private, or cause excessive traffic to/from the Website, or (iii) publicly share or ask for answers of all or part of the levels of the Website, or (iv) interact with any bulk data to obtain, or help someone obtain, an unfair, global advantage in any mode of the Website that involves leaderboards or rankings.

Clarifications: For (iii), "publicly" means that your post/words have the potential to directly reach more than 10 people or users. For (iv), "bulk" means reasonably beyond the scope of human memory, and "unfair, global advantage" means that it lets out a significant portion of the thought process for a considerable portion of the levels; one example would be any form of "function preimage data", which takes the function values and/or the plot as input and outputs a potential function expression. Looking up the symbolic expression of a specific constant is allowed and in fact encouraged.

You accept that if you violate the Honor Code, we may take appropriate actions to protect the integrity of our community, such as removing any relevant content, suspending relevant accounts, and temporarily or permanently terminating our service to you and/or relevant identities. You agree that we shall have the sole right to interpret the Honor Code and decide whether any user is in violation of it.

Intellectual Property, Copying and Reverse Engineering

The Website as a whole and any content contained in the Website is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights to the fullest extent of the law. Some third-party components are the intellectual properties of their respective owners. You agree that you will not: (i) copy, modify, create any derivative work of; or (ii) reverse assemble, decompile, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to derive source code (or the underlying ideas, algorithms, structure or organization); or (iii) remove any copyright notices, identification or any other proprietary notices from any of the software, copyrighted content and any proprietary information in the Website.

System and Network Security

You agree to not violate the system or network security, and understand that such violations will be subject to criminal and civil liability. Examples include but are not limited to (i) any attempt at harming or disrupting a server or our service to any user, or any behavior that causes such harm or disruption, and (ii) unauthorized access, use, probe or scan of system security, authentication measures, data or traffic. Violators of this term are responsible, without limitations, for the cost of labor to correct all damage to the operation of the network. Thank you for keeping our community safe.

Inappropriate or Unlawful Content

Any content you publish or transmit through our service, and any content you publish outside our service that can be directly correlated to us, shall not: (i) be defamatory, malicious, fraudulent, or violating the privacy or copyright of any entity, or (ii) attempt to promote or encourage any activity or content that violates any applicable law, regulation, or our Terms.

Privacy Policy

We use cookies to facilitate users' ability to navigate through the Website, including to allow registered users to access secure parts of the Website. We collect IP address once and only once at registration, and store it along with the registration information the user provides. We do not store any other personal information. We do not share or sell any aforementioned information with any third party. You agree to our usage of user data and understand that, due to the nature of Information Technology, we cannot guarantee that the user data will be absolutely safe from intrusion by others.

Termination of Service

We reserve the right to terminate our service to all or some users at any time and for any reason at our discretion.

Disclaimer of Warranty

ANY SERVICE OR PRODUCT ON THE WEBSITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS". NO WARRANTY IS MADE ABOUT THE CONTENT, ACCURACY, ACCESSIBILITY, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, OR ABILITY TO MEET YOUR NEEDS.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall we be liable to you for any damage or loss, unless our act or failure to act involves intentional misconduct, fraud, or a knowing violation of the law. Our total liability for any claims arising from or relating to the Website is limited to USD$20.

Indemnation
